Draining fresh water tank

Attempted to drain fresh water tank from low point drains and can't get any water to flow unless I turn water pump on. This started only after I completely filled tank and it overflowed from vent. Before, I would only partially fill tank and it drained fine. I tried turning on all water taps inside coach and had plugs out of heaters but water flowed only after I would turn pump on. Any thoughts? Forgot to say but I have a 2015 Georgetown 364TS.

You have water in the vent hose and it cannot vent. Try blowing air into the vent at your water tank fill outlet to clear out water then try to drain it again.

You should have two ( one red and one Blue/white) low point drains. These drain the plumbing in your unit. You should also have a fresh water drain near your FW tank. You need to use the Fresh Water drain to drain the FW tank.

I opened the red and blue which are near edge of motorhome behind right side dual rear wheel. Side of coach indicates these are fresh water drains. Have no other drains near fresh water tank.

The red and blue drains drain the plumbing ( red hot side, blue cold side) and not the FW tank drain. Not sure where the FW drain is on your unit, but that is what you need to drain the FW tank.

This is what I have on my 364 that I picked up Monday.. Does yours look like this.. Now mine has the two water heaters and two pumps

Not sure you could drain the FWT through the low points. This would have to siphon the water from the tank through the pump and I don't think that will work. Makes sense that water only comes out of low points when the pump is on. Find the drain tube by the FWT and drain from there.

It looks like the two blue lines that are together might be your low point drains for the FWT. you should be able to see which tubes are connected to the FWT by looking at the bottom of the tank in the compartment.


BTW, I have never had to run the pump to drain the FWT.

On my 2014 3050 Behind the panel ,in the storage area, just after the pump, I have a shutoff that drains the FWT.

While on this subject, has anyone installed a winterizing pump kit on a 3050?

I have similar situation at my Prism 24G.
Fill up Fwt (2/3) open all faucets and turn on water pump for about 10 minutes and no water out.

I too have a 2015 GT 364TS. It has three drain lines wrapped together right behind the right rear tires: two blue and one red . The red and one of the blues respectively are the hot and cold low point drains. The other blue is the fresh water holding tank drain. (Don't confuse this with the clear plastic fresh water overflow line.) Once you find it, I recommend adding a simple 90 degree hand valve (at Lowes) to make opening and closing the drain very easy thereby avoiding the "water in the face" actuation.

These are drains for water lines and water pump for wnter servicing, There should be a separate valve for draining the tank, min os o the left front corner.
