DVD Video into your Camera LCD - 351ds

Here is an easy way to get video up front while on the road.

Grab one of the video outputs from your head unit (there are two available) and feed it into your camera control box.




The control box (multiplexer) only has three inputs (left/right and rear camera). You have to chose which one you don't need. I personally don't use either left/right cameras so no big deal to me. You need an adapter cable available from the manufacturer.

Now to figure out how to get the TVs in the bunk beds to work without having to fire up the generator while on the road.

I pulled one off and they are 12v LCDs. I thought they were 110 since they are plugged into 110 outlets, but there is a transformer hidden behind a panel. Not sure why they didn't just wired them off of 12v. Need to find out how to run a set of wires to them.

That setup seems like it would be easier to control the head unit for movies rather than having to look backward at the TV. I like that.

It's perfect for down the road, but in ours you can't use the living room TV since the slide out blocks 75% of it.

Yeah the living room TV is useless while traveling. Not sure what I bumped when I connected the DVD player into the antenna cable but now the surround speakers work while watching TV channels. Never could get that to work before. Not sure how but the TV speakers also work at the same time the surround speakers are on. Mine doesn't work that way when watching movies using the Jenson.

Cant recall if our surround work while watching TV. There must be a setting somewhere. When I pulled the radio to hook it up to the camera screen I noticed something odd. The radio has two sets of RCA outputs (front and rear output). It also has one set of RCA inputs (video, left and right). The funny thing is that the RCA cables that go back to the living room TV are actually hooked up to the input of the radio...not the output. I have to try it out, but I bet if you set the TV to external speakers, and the radio to one of the aux settings...then the sound will come through the surround speakers.

I went out and remove the small panel that hides the power supply to the bunk bend TV and found out that it's rated for 3A. I then removed the VESA mounting bracket off of the TV and the sticker says it uses <18 watts. That means that it will draw 1.5A or less. The model number on the TVs is SLC-1369A-3S. Can't believe they are almost $200 bucks for one.

Yes, you can get TV audio out of the surround speakers. You have to set the mode in your head unit to Aux 1 and it works.
