I'm Curious.......OP mentioned he was charging the batteries with a 30Amp connection. I know depending on the type of adaptor you are using you might only be providing power to 1/2 of the breakers in the coach....is it possible that the 30 amp wasn't providing power to the correct side of the rig to supply power to the charger?

It is possible... but... most dogbone adapters to 30A tie both sides of the 50 amp to power.
