Yes. I figure the trouble is around a piston. They suspect #2.

Update:

I'm getting an entire new engine! They tore it down and found #2 piston ring broke and sleeve scarred up. So entire new long block.

Thanks for the update! That's probably the best news considering the circumstances! ( best news would have been that it never had a problem, but.... )

I would love to see how they get it in there.
Probably from below after they remove the whole front suspension.
If you have a chance to take a few pictures would be fun as well as interesting.
But at least it will be installed by Ford is a good thing.

Yes. They told me they would drop it out from under coach removing suspension.

Wander if I'll have to redo chf when I get it back?

What di you mean by this sentence?

"Wander if I'll have to redo chf when I get it back? "
I would ask them to do a front end alignment if they remove the steering.

I had already done the cheap handling fix. So when they remove the front suspension and then reinstall post engine install, I assume that will install front sway bars back to factory hole location. It made a big difference to me in handling. Not so much roll feel.

I will definitely ask about front end alignment as it had just been done with in the first 90 days from purchase under warranty.

I'm a pretty relaxed fellow. I know crap happens! We love the 351. Never thought the ford power plant would have had issues. At first I was a little worked up about it all. It's been over a month now and I'm getting a new engine which is what I wanted as I believe it's best option here. I will definitely put her through the paces to see if she's all good. I'm a little anxious to get her back. Should get her next week. DW is teacher and I also still work so not full timing. We have missed one weekend trip with her had to get hotel. I don't know how a full timer would handle this. Be out of their home for a month!
