Entry door hard to close after levelers deployed

So we discovered that our entry door is difficult to close (and open) after we've leveled the coach using "auto" level. Wondering if it might be necessary to zero out the leveling system, as has been discussed on other threads. Or possibly just manually level so it doesn't lift the back (or front) any more than necessary. This seems to happen even when the coach starts from a relatively level surface to begin with. Once I retract the jacks, door works fine.

I've looked through all of our paperwork but I can find nothing at all on the Lippert leveling system. I'm sure it's available online however I'm guessing I'll need to know the exact model of the system, etc. Coach is a 2014 Georgetown 351.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

We have a 2013 and it has the same exact issue. I'm having it looked at under warranty. The leveling system is by Lippert and it's on their website. However, this thread covers it for you. :-)

Here are the instructions for resetting (recalibrating) the auto level on the 2014 models.

Make sure you're parked on a level spot when you do this. LEVEL ZERO POINT CALIBRATION

1. Press the "ON/OFF" button to turn the system off. Then press the "ON/OFF" button to turn the system on.

2. Perform the following: -Press the "FRONT" switch 5 times. -Press the "REAR" switch 5 times.

3. All LED outputs will blink.

4. You are now ready to set Zero Point.

5. With a level on a countertop, use the right/left/front/rear buttons to manually level the coach.

6. When the coach is completely level manually press the "RETRACT ALL" switch 3 times to set the zero point. That should do it. If you press the wrong buttons simply turn the system off and then back on and repeat the procedure.

Don't know if your problem is the same as ours but it seems the door either works well when not leveled but not when leveled or the opposite. I messed with mine after the dealer couldn't find a happy medium. Eventually I took a file to the catch on the frame and knocked the sharp edge off where the catch mates together and it made a big difference. It's not super smooth but it's the same level or not! I don't have to pull as hard as I did before doing this.

Good idea, Charlie. I did actually smooth off the mounting screws on the strike plate to make sure they aren't rubbing. On ours the contact point is the upper left hand corner (looking in from outside) and it's *just* enough to make contact when it's leveled.

Chris - wondering if you had the issue checked out yet? I experimented by doing a minimal amount of manual leveling and I'm still getting the same issue, so I'm thinking we'll need to have it addressed under warranty.

I'm waiting for a warranty appointment. I'll update once I get my stuff addressed.
