FG Roof issue...how bad is it?

2016 364TS that rolled off the line in February and picked it up 2 days after. I noticed this issue slightly sometime this spring, hadnt checked it in a while and it seems to have gotten worse. Went up today after brief outing and noticed a crack on the opposite side, looks deeper than the picture came out. There has been do damage or hitting anything, can see one side where its warped.

How worried should i be, and best to contact FR first or dealer for this type issue? Since its a one piece roof im thinking big problem....hopefully im wrong.

FG Roof issue...how bad is it?

Had it happen on mine as well. What they did, under warranty, was basically cap the length of the roof on both sides with aluminum radius caps. I don't have a good picture of it, but have one that will give you an idea. Other option is have roof replaced under warranty. I'm happy with the alternative option. Click image for larger version

Sealant doesn't look like that now. Had my repairs done at the dealer and there finish work wasn't good at all, so I stripped it and resealed it to my liking. I have more pics of the bad seal job, to document everything as youroo said, but none of my finished product. Lol

Thanks for the quick replies.

Those caps seem to be a good deal...i hate the sound of a new roof as it makes me think of driving it to the factory to get fixed. Roof warranty is like 10 years anyway isnt it?

Roof Warranty??
If I copied the link right, there should be plenty of info for you on the roof issue your having. I think the roof warranty is only a year, but don't have any of my paperwork with me. Sorry for your roof problem, it's a bad feeling when its first discovered, but can be fixed.

I have the same thing on my 2015 328ts. They told me it was cosmetic.
Is there anything I should be concerned about? I am going to Goshen, should I make this a warranty issue?

I'm not an expert and can only speak to my situation. It started above the drivers window and within a couple of weeks, had spread further down the coach towards the rear. It also appeared on the passenger side (front). It was bending the fiberglass radius in a way, where the roof joins to the front and rear caps, that the sealant had begun to separate. I resealed it and kept an eye on it until I was able to get it in and get it fixed. Some situations may be worse than others, but I didn't want to have to worry about it happening more often or getting worse over the years to come and I end up paying for the repair out of pocket. Forest River has handled all my warranty repairs fairly. So I guess some may be cosmetic only, but I'm not the only one that's had the repair done. Can't hurt to try and get it repaired under warranty at the rally.

I have a 2016 364 and have the same problem in the same spot (above passenger side windows). Please keep us posted on how you get it resolved. I have not reported mine to the dealer yet as it has not actually cracked yet (knock on wood) but I intend on doing so asap.....

My 2012 model 360 actually came with aluminum radius caps from the factory. But there were "ripples" that had shallow cracks and sealant gaps at the corners of the end caps. FR sent me to a local RV repair shop and they sealed the problem areas. I would suggest that any new owner get up on their roof and do a very detailed inspection. My repair was covered under the 2 year warranty. I took close up pictures and sent them to FR. Oddly the only water leak I have had was from the front AC seal. That was a low cost easy repair.
