First trip with our new 378xl
My wife and I are super excited about our first trip with our GT . We leave for Daytona on 16th of Feb. from New Brunswick Canada. It's going to be around 2800 kilometres one way so if there is any bugs to work out we should find them before we get back home. Was wondering if anyone ever stayed at Flagler Beach in Florida? We thought we might spend some time there before we go to Daytona 500. Any other camp grounds recommended would be appreciated.

Congratulation on your new Georgetown 378 XL.
I have a 2012 XL 378TS also.
Hopefully you are prepared for the long journey and have checked out everything.
Some item to always check.
1. Tire pressure as they do change in climate and altitude.
2. Check hydraulic fluid in your slide and leveler tank. Should be approx. 3/4" from the top when everything is up and in position.
3. Battery fluid levels for both coach and engine.
4. You may also consider stopping at a Ford dealer to have the oil and filter changed before heading home as you always want to flush the first oil out which usually has lots of residue from the initial engine build. 3,000 to 5,000 miles is a good range when to change the first oil and filter.
5. Slow down and enjoy the view. If you don't need to go 65mph all the time.
6. You didn't mention if you are pulling a car of not.
7. Are you planning to stay in Florida for the rest of the winter?
8. Don't forget Disney World in Orlando and if you have the money and time the Florida keys is a great location this time of the year.
Don't carry a full tank of water all the time. 1/4 to 1/3 of a tank will meet your need while driving.
Enjoy the lower gas prices than at home as you get further south.
Again enjoy your trip.

Thank you. I will for sure check everything before we leave. And no I'm not pulling a car for this trip. Mainly going for the race at Daytona. Wish we could stay for the rest of winter but guess I need to return home after a couple of weeks to go back to work.

Flagler Beach
We stay at Beverly Beach Campground 5 miles north of Flagler Beach. It isn't cheap, but you don't have to stay directly ON the beachside. OBTW, Flagler Beach has a GREAT farmers market right in the middle of town. Many venders!! It's on A-1A.

Thanks blackhat. Will check that out. What tire pressure does the other owners recommend I put in my tires?

Here is what my wall sticker says about tire pressure.
It is a Ford sticker.
Yours may be different in weight and psi
This is a bare Ford Chassis rating but most with 22.5" tires run them up to 100 psi

I'm leaving for Florida February 17th, it's my winter stay in the Lakeland area, dog agility shows, I'm on the west coast. If you can stay at the KOA's if they are open along the way on 95, if that's how you are traveling. Kona in Fredericksburg, VA is wonderful and then again in Point South/Yemassee, SC. Enjoy your trip

I also have a 2012 378XL. Have the front end lined up ASAP. I found out in time but have seen others that did not and had major front tear wear way too soon.
I am told FR will pay for this one time early on in ownership since they can't do it at the factory themselves.

The sticker is wrong on the tires. According to the truck tire shop where I have my rig checked, they should be 100 - 100 lbs of pressure. Ford does not take into account the change from the conversion. That is also the reason the front end is not lined up.

First trip with our new 378xl
I second the need for a front end alignment. We bought ours in Grand Rapids, MI and drove to Tyler, TX. 1300+ miles and the front tires showed slight wear and cupping. After the alignment and a couple thousand miles you couldn't even tell there was any wear at all. Our dealer reimbursed us after emailing them the alignment receipt. I am sure they were reimbursed from FR.
You'll love the floor plan of the 378 XL. We sure do.
Like Iggy says, do all the little maintenances and you'll be fine.
Be sure to read up on this forum cause it has lots of experienced tips from RVers.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new rig.
x3 on the front end alignment.
You might also look at the "Cheap Handling Fix", CHF on these and other forums. It made a big difference on my unit, and was an easy fix in less than 1 hour by myself.
If you're coming down I95, Carolina Crossings in NC is a good overnight stop. Easy off and easy on.

GT 378XL Residential fridge
I have a GT 378 XL 2014. Can someone tell me how to have the Residential fridge running while driving without using my generator? I cant seem to figure it out and I don't see anything in the fridge manual. Hate to take it back to dealer for something that might be simple.
Also thanks for the tip on the alignment.

There is a button on the left just as you are going into coach just above light switch. It turns on the inverter for fridge

You are running off of your coach batteries which then goes to your 12 volt DC to 120 volt AC invertor that produces power for your residential refrigerator. So you must have your main battery switch on as well as the invertor switch on.

If you have driven your 2014 on the highway and you notice how the front end won't stay straight when you remove your hands from the steering wheel you need an alignment.
If you only have a few miles on the rig since you bought it you may then consider contacting Forest River Georgetown Rep and tell them about the steering and alignment. They may say in an email go ahead and take it to a Ford dealer or other and get it aligned and sent them the bill which they promised to pay. This has happened to all of us and if the rig new and hardly driven since you bought it this may work for you.
Here is a few names and email address I have for the Georgetown warranty rep.
