Ford V10 Oil Checking ?
I'm almost embarrassed to ask this but in my orientation the question of checking the engine oil was omitted. I've looked and looked but can't find anything that looks like a traditional dipstick. I've taken the cover off and craned my neck under the outside hood and still can't find it. I'm a Certified Old Coot and have served my apprenticeship on the Ford 289 and Chevvy 235(?) straight six but never met a V10 before. Would appreciate help and please don't smirk.

Many manufacturers are using a bright colored handle on things like the oil dipstick. On my F150, it is a bright yellow circular handle. Your V-10 Ford might be similar. Give it a look. On my F150, it is alongside the cylinder head on the side of the motor. Since the V-10 is just the V-8 with 2 more cylinders on the end, it might be in the same place.

What I have seen it is to the right of the radiator overflow containter which is in front of the radiator. The fill tube cap is yellow and the dipstick it just below that and has a black head cap.
Take a picture of your unit from the front with the grille up.
