Forest River Service

Drove our new coach over to Elkhart In, to be serviced what can I say, they did a great job a lot of the stuff that we talk about on the forum they looked at and fixed. No questions asked took care of all our concerns. They had 2 techs on it all day. Also took the factory tour the 2013 378xl lots of new options very nice.

Was this scheduled by John Armstrong? Did you have to get a hotel room or did you stay on site in the motorhome?

What kind of items did they fix?

Yes John Armstrong, stayed in unit on site. They replaced bolts on steps, reinforced hot water heater repaired slide bottoms resealed roof and also replaced some molding inside coach. They went through every thing in the coach and readjusted and lubed and sealed everything. Me and my better half very pleased.

The hot water heater they supported there was a problem where they would fall, slide outs rub on bottoms and break the plywood down,

2012 GT 378TS & I too just had to have the hot water heater put back in place. The outside looked like there was a loose door. Dealer handled it under warranty.

One of those options on the new 378 is an outside TV built into the sidewall!

Question? Is the hot water heater issue, they being poorly installed and supported going to be the next Forest River/Georgetown issue such as the hydraulic line and motor issue that is SO prevelent on their product line. I'm even more concerned now as I wait for the dealer response of hydraulic line replacement before I would complete the purchase for the 2011 330TS I've been waiting on since May. My brow is sweating thinking "should I bail" now!

This is my second Georgetown, I don't regret my purchase at all. I have a lot of friends that own other brands they all have problems. I have toured a lot of the plants that make RVs they all pretty much the same. My first coach I had 0 problems my second only minor issues. Remember it's a house on wheels that rolls down the road at 55 plus MPH there's going to be issues. I do believe forest river stands behind their products.

Had my 378 n0w for a little over 2 years. Just completed a 4000 mile trip out to New Mexico, got 7.6 mpg for the entire distance towing a 2011 Honda CRV never pulling a fuze or experiencing a dead battery. This is my 4th new coach since 1996 having owned a 1996 winnebago brave, 2001 monaco monarck, 2006 fleetwood bounder and let me tell you this 2011 georgetown 378 is the best one so far. This is the 1st coach that did'nt leak. Slides open or closed, cloudburst, driving rain, raining sideways, noo leaks.Mabey tomorrow it'l all colapse but for now its the best.

This is our first MH, has 2 5th wheels before. Had a couple of minor issues but normal things with a new rig. Very happy so far. 2012 378TS. Much easier than the 5th wheels. Secret I think to all of them is having a good dealer nearby. Overall very pleased with our choice after 5 trips out & 3,500 miles.

I have a 2012 georgetown 378,will never buy a forest river product again. It has some very nice things but very poor work in building it.They was in big hurry, screws left out, panels not fasten, about 15 things on my list so far.Like the rubber=foam strip between fender and frame, came to end of roll on driver side so just left off about a foot, instead of taking time to pick up new roll. NO quality inspection at all on my coach.John Armstrong would not return my calls.I was calling when the bottom of my slide was tore up ,found a great dealer to patch it ,no help from forest river or dealer where i got it.

This is my first forest river, great things about the coach, but very poor job putting together,I have been repairing things the last 40 years and hate to see this kind of work.I had a newmar 2002 dutch star gas coach for 7 years before this one.Very little trouble, wanted something newer and bigger.
