Fresh tank filling on its own????

Weird one. Looking for my GT buddies for help! When hooked up to city water, my fresh tanks fills slowly to overflow. Takes about 24 hours to completely fill. And no, my city hose is not connected to the fresh fill.... Lol.

I have a 2014 378....

Standing by...
Paul

I had the same problem, check valve in water pump will allows city water to pass through. Turn off city water, turn on water pump allow pressure to build up untill pump shuts off. Turn city water back on and turn off water pump.
I found if I turned on city water without pressurizing the system it woul fill up my tank.

Same problem. I added an external check valve on input side of water pump. Much cheaper than replacing pump and much less work than rebuilding pump and replacing internal check valve. Mine originally cleared when doing as suggested in previous post but started sticking again a couple days after hooking back up to city water.

Thanks! Will give it a try and let ya'll know. Everytime I think one of these things ONLY happens to me, I am relieved that we ALL suffer the same issues!

Tried the procedural fix. Seemed to work, but overnight started leaking again, filling the tank and dripping overflow. My temp solution is to turn off city water and use the fresh tank, refilling as necessary until I can get the pump replaced under extended warranty.

The pump doesn't need replacing, just the valve cleaned or replaced. I had the same issue and eventually installed a ball valve in the output from the pump to the main water line. This prevents the city water from backflowing through the pump into the fresh water tank. We rarely use the fresh water tank, but if we need to I can easily open the ball valve from under the kitchen sink.

The check valve is in the pump housing. Pain to keep cleaning. Thus the ball valve.

Water pump

Had the same problem. Since I was still under warranty I had the pump replaced. No problem since. The new pumps can have crud in them from the manufacture and plug the check valve causing water to flow into the fresh water tank.
