Frigidaire issue

In my 2014 Georgetown xl 377 the residential Frigidaire French door bottom freezer refrigerator gets ice into the bottom freezer and as it continues to defrost water spills out from one corner onto the floor. I think the culprit is a stopped up drain. Access to clean the drain is from the back. Does anyone have any information on how to move it to gain access to the rear of the refrigerator? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Bob Parker

I just pulled out my fridge like yours on our 2014 GT 360 to check on a water leak.
Steps:
1. Open up the freezer drawer all the way
2. At the front bottom of the fridge, remove the air grill by pushing it straight up then out
3. Remove the two wood scre

screws in bottom front on each side
4. Put 1" planks in front of fridge wheels to roll it out on
5. Put spacers as much as you can under the rear jack on same side if fridge
6. Using that rear jack, tilt your camper as much as you can
7. Fridge should roll out easily.

Thanks for the response. My frig has two walls on each side which makes it difficult to get to anything because there is very little room to maneuver. Knowing how to start at the front is a big help.

This is just an idea as I have a refrigerator like the one in the Georgetown in my home and had an issue like yours.


It may be that the defrost drain got frozen over and no longer able to drain to the outside. The frozen water blocks the drain inside the back of the lower freezer section.
The only way to correct is to turn off the refrigerator and let it thaw out.
This is what the manuf. repair man did but he used a steamer to thaw the frozen drain line.

Thanks Iggy, I didn't think of that. That is certainly worth a try to see if it corrects the problem before I try and pull the frig out of its cubby hole.

This problem happens when power is turned off on the refrigerator for a prior of time to make it melt. Then when it turns on it freezes and you won't know its an issue until the next automatic defrost cycle and the water can't flow because of the previous blocked drain.

Iggy, that makes sense. I spent about 3 hrs cleaning the RV unplugged from shore power and forgot to turn the inverter on. So it could have thawed and froze blocking the drain as you indicated in you response. Thanks for you taking time to answer questions.
