Frigidaire Microwave/Convection oven recall

Ok folks, how many of you have actually received a letter from Forest River Georgetown advising you that your micro/conv oven was on recall?

I discovered last July that ours was. Kevin Stratton at Georgetown even confirmed to me that our unit was on the recall list.

His advice? Take it to a dealer to have repaired. Have not been able to get our local FR to work on it since we didn't purchase it from them.

This past month went back to Lazy Days for some work and they gave me a phone number to call (direct to Frigidaire) to get the repair made.

They would not do the work even though they admitted my unit is on the recall list.

Why, you ask. Does not seem to be very smart of them to ignore a recall problem.

I was told they could not do the work because FR had not notified them that my unit was on the recall list. (This just seems so dumb to me.)

Anyway I called Kevin Stratton again but this time I spoke to a Bryan White. He told me FR had moved him to Gtown's to help Kevin. Well, I'm glad they did!

I explained to him my problem. He read all the notes on my coach in his computer and confirmed once again that my unit is on the recall list. I told him about the conversation I had with FR and also that I never received a letter from FR actually advising me that I was on the recall list.

He emailed me a blank copy of the letter and could not figure out why I had never been mailed an original notification. He didn't know what to do, but he didn't quit.

He investigated and found a form that he had to fill out to submit to Frigidaire. I asked for a copy of it but since he was unfamiliar with the form he did not realize that the form did not save on his computer- it just went straight to Frigidaire.

Anyway that was last Wednesday. No phone call from anybody to set up appointment for repair so I contacted him today and he advised me that he had been told they had set up an appointment for me and had shipped the repair parts to me.

I told him somebody needed to be contacting me to tell me when the appointment was so I would be here (you think?).

Finally after that Frigidaire called me to ask if this Friday would be ok. I graciously told them yes.

We'll see if it happens.

I love my GTown but FR needs to get their act together.

What models does it apply to and what necessitated a recall?

Wish I could answer your question. But I do know the recall notice is somewhere in this forum - somewhere. You'll have to dig deep to find it cause it was posted last year. It is about units made during a certain time period and with certain model and serial numbers. Good luck in your search.

I have a 2014 Georgetown 377 XL and our micro wave failed. Our dealer, Motor Home Specialist, in Alvarado, TX, replaced the unit with a new one. Didn't fave to talk to FR or Frigidaire.

Frigidaire showed up today and made the necessary repairs to correct the recall on my unit. Frigidaire has their problems with paperwork, just like Forest River. The technician could not print up a receipt for me to sign because of the way they worded the order to repair. I don't really understand it but the technician stayed on the phone with 3 different offices attempting to get it straightened out. He never got it, but I got the work completed do no more worries on my part.
