Finally got a warm enough day yesterday to get back to the water pump. I bought a 3' heat cable, some aluminum tape and a roll of fiberglass insulation. I had noticed that there was a slow leak after everything had frozen so first, I turned the water pump on and noticed a small leak around the hard plastic pump case separation line. I took the water pump out and didn't find any cracks so I used a little clear silicon around the lip of the outside of the pump housing all the way around to form a gasket and then bolted it back together. I then put the aluminum tape around the water tubing and then attached the heat cable on top of that using the aluminum tape. Next was wrapping it all with the 1/4" X 3" fiberglass insulation and taping it in place. I also found the winterization valve and hose while in there. Who would have thought to look there when there is only a 3" white screw on cap and it was right where the fuse is and the panel is screwed into place. Anyway, good information to know. Now I've got to screw the pump back down but not until I put a piece of foam under it to quiet it down. Oh, and by the way, the ducts that I thought were supposed to direct warm air from the heater into that compartment aren't ducts. Using a flashlight, I looked into them and they are just conduits for the electrical to go from the left side of the MH to that compartment.
