Ft. Wilderness
We will be at Ft. Wilderness for a week starting on the 22nd. First time there even though we used to live in FL. Stop by if you are a FROG.

We just got back from three days there this past weekend. It was great but be ready for our afternoon thunderstorms. Nice and quiet during the day when all of the kids are at Disney....lol

Oh yeah, I remember the everyday afternoon t-storms. I kind of miss them. Sucks we will not have an awning. Took it to the dealer to get it replaced and they said it would take 6 weeks since it's special order. The kids will love Disney and being with gma though.

Enjoy, we loved it there. Some of the loops were tight so bring your backing skills. Once in, the sites are large, it's just difficult backing in on a narrow road on a turn the opposite way you need to be pointed. Check out fort fiends for anything you could ever possibly want to know about the fort. They even have a downloadable app for your smart phone that shows pics and dimensions of every site there. We used that and learned quickly from it we didn't like the first site they gave us. The changed our site per our request but we had to wait for it to be ready. Not a big deal as you can park in the overflow lot and go enjoy the pool while you wait for a text that your site is ready.

We check in on the 26th, look for the Cedar Creek pulled by a large gray Kenworth tractor with a smart car on the back of the truck. Also will have a Fort Fiends sign displayed hopefully in the 800 loop.

Good link. I can't believe it's so hard to find information directly from the Disney site. Still need to figure out if we need to take a wireless router. It appears the internet is through cable.

Any chance you have pictures of your hauler/camper setup?

We have a Georgetown with a skull on the dash and a boxer dog that looks like a mastiff. We received the Disney booklet with a reservation number, but no specific site. Is it on a first come first served basis?

They'll get you in your loop you requested during reservation but don't assign a site in that loop until you check in...so kinda goes by what's open for your stay when you arrive

you can request a loop and even ask for a preferred site number if you have one. Make sure if you have a pet that you request a pet loop. Usually you are not given a site number until you check in at the front gate.
We enjoy the 300 loop, and have stayed in a couple of sites. My last site could fit me but was too close to all the foot traffic and drove my minpin (and me) nuts. So we set our reservations again, requested the 300 loop and told them which sites we preferred that the 5th wheel would fit into.
