X2

But it still took 40 thread messages to learn Georgetown's all get fantastic mileage. 7mpg if you are really lucky.

We are retired. Our financial advisor told us to expect/hope for 30 years of retirement. The first ten are go-go years. The next ten are slow go years. Then come the no go years. If we spend a lot on fuel the first ten years, oh well! We are having a good time. We won't need to buy fuel for the walkers or wheelchairs.

I just made a trip from Oregon to Utah no towing my car. I usually get 6.6 mpg towing. Got 7.4 mpg without.

I get at least 7.4 towing a crv and driving 60-62 mph, while slowing down going up a hill and avoiding downshifting as much as possible. Nothing less than 50 mph. We have a 378 XL.

I just got back from a 550 mile trip and used 60 gallons of gas. 9.1mpg for a 327DS. Not bad!

I drive similarly, but can't come close to this nor do I know anyone that does but you. What's your secret??

One other thing to keep in mind...
You have LMC Luxury Mobile Condo. When was the last time you say a house that was moving down the road getting mileage. My versa on the other has gone over 2000 miles and has not burned a drop of gas, wonder what MPG it is getting.

Also the next time you get stuck in traffic because of nut somewhere that did a stupid act and has forced 95 to be a parking lot, you can put on your AC, watch a ball game, eat dinner and even use you own bathroom while ever one else stews.

I have not done that yet, but based on what I saw of 95 north last april, it is my future some day.

happywhencamping, never viewed the positive virtues of a motor home quite the way your I95 picture is painted! Another reason why DW and I love our MH. Very nice.

Fuel Economy

Krazymace,
I keep it out of tow haul mode and I don't use cruise control much, only on level roads. When in cruise control my mileage suffers about 1/2 MPG's. I think because of down shifting. When in tow mode it down shifts too soon going up hills. I just decrease the speed going up hills but rarely below 50 MPH. I avoid down shifting as much a s possible. Though I do need to remember to put it in tow mode when I go over a hill so it will down shift in a lower gear to aid in slowing down.

Gas Mileage

I have a 2013 Georgetown XL 378 towing a 2014 Honda CRV. All of the above experiences are right on. Over the course of 11,000 miles my average is 6.3 mpg. I get as low as 5 in eastern Oregon (all up and down) and as high as 8.2 traveling from Phoenix to LA (it is flat and straight).

These traffic problems are when my DW learns to drive....Once we see it is going to be a long mess, I pop it into park, she jumps behind the wheel and I get a potty and stretch break. She gets to idle along, learn that it can take a lot to stop a big RV and just generally gets the feel. Sometimes speed inches up to 25-35, so more experience.

Sooner or later it always comes back to a stop and I jump back behind the wheel ready for another few hours of driving.

Just try and make some lemonade along 95...or 75, just pick your favorite parking lot...those seem to be mine!

When I'm driving I just put it on autopilot and go to the bathroom.
DW doesn't like it but it works for me.

Just finished a 3 thousand mile trip from California to Monument Valley, Colorado Springs, Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone, and averaged 7 mpg towing my Ford Escape. Flawless trip and great time.

5000 miles traveled from CT to SD. Average mpg was 11.7 towing a 2014 38CK with a 2013 Ram 2500 mega can with the Cummins diesel. Effortlessly towed with plenty of power to spare. The trailer is 16200 gross weight
