Fuel gauge not reading

I have a 2013 351DS that has an intermittent fuel gauge errors. It never reads above 3/4 full and I can't pump anymore fuel in. Sometimes the fuel to go feature is just dashes and the gauge is below E. The generator still runs, so it has to be above 1/4 tank. It would be nice to know how much fuel I really have. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Tank transmitter probably is bad, worst note is tank must be dropped to renew. Maybe have Chassis mfg run tests in advance.

2013 should be a warranty item with Ford. Check with a Ford Truck service place and get it fixed for free.

I would be surprised if any chassis mfg would cover instrumentation repairs in year 3 of a limited warrantee for a chassis, maybe.

I have an appointment with a Ford service center. The rep said they need to decide first what the problem is before deciding warranty coverage. The fuel system is a chassis item according to my paperwork. The problem I am afraid of is that it is a 2012 chassis and they may waive that card. I'll report back. Thanks for the inputs

Just to add most all RVs are built on last years chassis. The chassis and all Warranty items begin as of the first day in service, not the date of manufacture.

The Ford dealer found the problem, but claims the warranty has expired. He said that when he puts in the Vin number it gives him the date forest river got the chassis, not me. Any ideas?

pkhill your dealer is suppose to forward to Ford the date the unit was put into service and that is when your warranty starts.

Thanks, I will check on that. My extended warranty will cover part of it, but that is a issue for another thread. Wish I knew then what they claim now.

Had same problem with my F-53 w/a recall, Ford dealer told me FR never advised in service date. Ford resolved it with no issue based on "bill of sale". What was found regarding gauge error?

Tested all the leads and got good readings at the dash, so they are replacing the sending unit. Have to drop the tank as all the access is from the top of the tank. I will take bill of sale by and see what they say. Thanks

Yes you should still have five months of warranty, get the in service date corrected ASAP! Good luck .
