Gas prices are still falling. Time to take a trip

With the gas prices being the lowest in over 5 years its time to take a long trip with our Georgetown's. I know many of you are in the cold areas and maybe its time you made a trip to the warm parts of the country.
Here in Arizona the gas is down below $2.79 and the temps here are between 77 and 85 degrees with sunny skies and lower humidity.
Some other great places are southern California, Nevada and even southern Texas. OK maybe even Florida.

So if you have the time for a winter vacation or want to visit relatives in the Southwest this is the time you should start planning your winter trip.
Back the bags and warn up the engines and come to the warm part of the country for a winter get-a-way!

Iggy, Can you tell us some of the better places to go to this winter. WE are planning to get out of the snow country after Xmas but more likely the end of January. I need to have a campground by the month, close to a basic health care facility that has physical therapy. DW had major shoulder repair and needs 6-7 months of therapy. The doc told us after 12 weeks we could travel and he would set up a PT program when we had a place to go. So now starts the crap shoot to find a place to get into, that is nice to be in, and easy to get DW's PT.

Going south would be cheap for us. Our Gas cost is $3.87 US for gallon in Canada. $111.1 per litre here.

USD at 2.79 per gallon is 81.8 cents per litre

Both including Can/US exchange.

We do pay a lot but Tag Fees are cheap and we get free health care so all in all it weighs itself out in the long run.

The nice thing about the Phoenix Metro area is we have lots of medical facilities here. I believe 50% of the folks here are in their 60's up.
We have numerous Sun City communities which also help locate many medical facilities.
In respect to campgrounds I would suggest looking in the Mesa Arizona area which has gobs of RV campgrounds but you will have to check and see if they have any room as we have lots from the northern US as well as Canada come here for the winter.
Good luck and stay warm.

I was in the Canadian Maritime area this summer and was paying $1.40 and up for a liter of gas. I helped support your government for a while with all the tax. LOL Even with the higher prices we had a wonderful 60 days up there.

Yes Tucson is also a great winter location.
It has also plenty of campgrounds and if you are retired military you can stay at one of the best military campgrounds on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson

Here in Orange County California 87 octane gas is $2.99 at ARCO. The high today was 88 degrees with a forecast low tonight of 63 degrees High temperature is forecast to swing back and forth between 88 and 77 degrees for the next fourteen days. Yes we are in the middle of a severe drought and have earthquakes at times, however worrying about freezing water lines in our motorhomes is something we never worry about. Balmy January weather with girls in their bikinis on the beach make even January a great month.

24 hours after the elections, our *(87 octane) gas jumped 30 cents per gallon. Strictly coincidence. LOL followed by UGH.

We are winterized and waiting for spring.

Onward.

I hate to break it to you buddy but our Health Care is not free. We are paying for it under every excuse under the sun. Why do you think we pay 2x the price for beer and boose, almost 2x the price for gas, huge price difference on most articles such as automobiles and parts, taxes etc?
It's amazing how we get screwed over and everyone keeps saying it's because of our healthcare. We are paying way more than we need to.
