Gen-Turi Generator Exhaust System (Camco)

Has anyone installed this exhaust extender on a GT335? The generator is under the room slide. Clearly I will need a horizontal extension to reach under the extended slide. But I'm concerned about proximity of the vertical pipe to the slide-top awning roller. Will the provided brackets hold the pipe away from the roller? I'm also concerned about heat. Does the pipe get hot up there?

Go to an auto parts store, get two 45 degree elbows, a couple of straight pieces of pipe, and some clamps. Cut the pipes to fit until the stack is extended to where you want it. With the new extension installed drill a 1/4" hole through the exhaust pipe top to bottom and stick a phillips screwdriver through the hole. It installs and removes easily. Wrap the stack with duct tame and foam pipe insulation where it comes in contact with the slide awning to protect from heat and abrasion. I have used mine several times with no problems
