Generac oil change

Took the time to find the manual and it said to change oil and filter 1.9 quarts and after draining it (It took 30 minutes) was way over the maximum fill. Has anyone else had this problem? Here is a few pictures

Dumb question but were you on level ground?
Have you started to engine to circulate thru the oil filter?
If you are and it is over filled you never drained all the oil out.
Did you drain approx. 1.9 qts out?
Let us know what you figure out.

Just to cover all bases.. You did start it and let I run for a few ..before you checked it??.. Oil has to circulate to fill filter..

Yes on level ground and I ran it for several minutes still high and not sure how much drained as I opened the tube and let it drain until no oil came out. Next time measuring would be IDEAL but never had this problem with small engine oil change.

Did you open the fill tube while draining?
It need an outside air balance to drain fully.
Does the present oil fill oil look clean and clear or dirty?

Never heard or seen a crankcase that required the filler cap be removed to allow oil to drain. IC engine crankcases have to be open to the atmosphere to operate.

OldCoot just trying figure out why he is over filled.
Maybe the oil breather is clogged. If that happens you will cause a vacuum in the oil pan area which will restrict the oil to come out below.

IMO, that's a real stretch, especially on a relatively new unit in a protected compartment.

New unit? It is in a 2008 Georgetown.
And it is not in a protected compartment. It is open to all the road junk.

Yeah its darn clean and to make this even more interesting I checked the oil after sitting overnight and it was at bottom of dipstick so I added 150 ml and it went up halfway on dipstick so added another 150ml and it was over again! Good times

A little over isn't going to hurt anything...

You need to let it set for a few minutes before you check it. It takes the oil a minute after you shut the engine off to level it self.
