General toilet

I had a lot of fun reading about to wear gloves or not to wear gloves while dumping. Here's another topic RV toilet paper versus septic safe TP. I have used both and usually try to use RV toilet paper even 2-ply but my wife has gone on revolt and is refusing to use it. I have to agree I could use two sheets of the septic safe 2-ply toilet paper and feel safer than 5 or 6 sheets of the Thedford 2-ply sheet stuff. Never had problems either way but I usually dump before I leave a campground. the only problem I've ever had was when I had to drive 5 miles to the dump site and had to use a wired down the toilet to dump. Would like to hear other experiences

Use whatever you use at home. For us it's Charmin. No issues for 15 years.

Ditto. For us it's Royale (the cat brand). Used in the RV for years with no stinky tank issues. If you're unsure about your home TP, stick a wad in a two quart mason jar (or equivalent) partially filled with water. Cap it off and shake it up. If the TP immediately begins to break down, you're good to go.

Btw... don't put tissue (Kleenex) or paper towel down the potty.

Same as we use at home. We always try to do two flushes when #2. Second flush just water. 20 years and three Motorhomes, no problems

To test weather theTP is good for RV tanks , just take a piece and soak it in water.

If it dissolves in a few min its fine , if it is still together after an hour , try a different brand.

Ditto here. 16 years and no problem, even using Extra Strong.

Another of the same. We did a science fair exhibit/test of common household toilet papers and found they all broke down with the slightest bit of agitation.

Read with fancy graphics!

http://learntorv.com/what-toilet-pap...hould-you-use/

We use Cottonelle (which performed the worst in our tests) and have only had 1 issue. That time, I blame having 11 people in the camper and 6 of them having not RV'd coupled with a toilet that is slow to let water in the bowl. That issue was not enough water vs which TP was used.

I even now regularly use a macerator with my sewer bladder and don't have issues.

I always thought Northern broke up well and asked the DW to get that for the RV. Last year I read or saw a video where a test was done, yeah the water in a jar only using a timer this time, on all the major brands and the winner was Angel Soft. That is now the exclusive RV toilet paper!

We use Scott brand RV toilet tissue. It is actually really nice. And expensive! :O If I can use regular toilet tissue, I certainly will! Save some $$$, too!
