Just tried to order oil, air and fuel filters from Camping World , 4 to 6 weeks for delivery and & $27 shipping !!!!! No thanks ! Stuff not available locally, got all from Amazon at a good price and FREE shipping. All OEM parts !
Looking for some pros and cons, my generator will be due for an oil change soon. Has anybody ever used a NAPA filter? I have a store a few minutes from my home and they can cross reference their NAPA Gold filter with the Cummins/Onan number.

NAPA Gold is all I've been using for 10 years and over 800 hours. I use Mobil-1 Syn, and change at 150 hours.

Same here. I'm using Royal Purple and OEM filters from Amazon. Using Royal Purple because they make that stuff in pretty much every weight you can think of. Including all the weights called for by the genset, even single weight Royal purple is available.
The NAPA Gold filter for the Onan 5500 Generator is actually made by Wix, and is available as a Wix brand filter at O'Reilly Auto Parts stores. Amazon usually has the Onan OEM filter in stock and at a slightly lower price than NAPA or O'Reilly.
For my area temps range usage the book recommends straight 30 weight oil but you can't get that in synthetic...Any ideas or should I use regular oil?
Air cooled engines are hard on multi-viscosity oils. Forget about that with synthetics, because they are much more tolerant of heat. Plus with 150 hour change intervals over the standard 50 hours with conventional oil, you'll actually save money with synthetics if you have no leaks.
If you have a O'reillys Auto parts close they carry WIX brand oil filters for the generator and use Mobile 1 you won't ever have a problem. I use both in a hard running Mercruiser marine engine that runs high RPM;s for hours still like new. Now also using in Motor home engine.
