Generator Question 325tsf

Hi Gang,

Getting to enjoy our new 2014 Georgetown 324tsf. We have a few generator questions. We bought the Coach a few weeks ago as a New (Left Over). I'm sure the Oil has been sitting in the Gen since late 2013 or early 2014 when it came on the dealers lot.

We're going to change the oil in the Gen to give us piece of mind (as we did with the Coach).

Does the Generator (5500) have an Oil Filter and what oil is everyone running. The Coach will be stored in the winter months and as far south as we'll travel is Myrtle Beach (next week).

I'm thinking we'll want to change the oil before we leave. What does everyone think..

Thanks...

Thanks Don... I believe you are correct in terms of changing the oil based on the hours the gen has on it. Didn't know with the oil sitting in it for 18 months without use if I should be changed. I'll pull the dip stick and see what it looks like.

I'll hit the local dealer to see if they have a filter in stock for it.

Thanks again....

If you need a filter wrench, this is the one that I bought from Amazon for about $8... Cummins 4200577 Onan Oil Filter Wrench

Heading up to Myrtle Beach State Park ourselves this Sunday. You wouldn't happen to be staying there also?

No we won't be. We're staying at Ocean Lakes Campground - Checking in on the 12th. Last year we stayed at Pirateland Campground.

You'll have to let us know what the State Park is like. Each year we're checking out a different campground as we gear up towards retirement. It's a few years off yet, but we plan on being full time RVers.

We have a TT on a Seasonal Site North of Pittsburgh, PA. Plan on using the Coach to head south in the winter months.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out. I have an adjustable wrench that seems like it will do the job for now.
