Georgetown 378 extra space

I got tired of having to unscrew the TV Everytime I needed to access the rear of it. So I killed two birds with one stone. I installed a tv swivel mount that not only allows easy rear tv access but also gives enough room behind for a multi slot file shelf and DVD storage. I purchased a two pack of 36 each carry type DVD cases. So I can load them up in the house and slide them in the motorhome in the rear TV storage area. The mod required my moving the mount back so I built a stronger mount. The Toshiba TV is too flimsy to just mount it from the back side only. The existing mount has a bottom support that carries the TV weight. I cut and welded part of it to the new swing out TV mount. Happy with the end result.

I like it, I have seen where the tv in the bedroom was mounted on a swing door which opened up the space behind it also. Nice mod.

Do you have any issues with the mount swinging out when moving down the road?

Radarman 65,

I haven't driven it yet, but I did install a bungee across the front, same as what is used on the residential refrigerator.

I am having the same problem, I am looking for a Mount that will work. Did you have any problem getting the cable to work. I just bought the 378 and so far have not been able to use any cable, I get no signal. I do get free tv over the air antenna

Rstrick11, your problem may be the splitter located behind the panel where the cable/antenna/satellite switch is.
The manufacturer may not have fasten the connection good enough.

Super idea. One important question: HOW do you unscrew/unfasten the TV to begin with?

How do you get to the splitter? I see there is a compartment in the next bay over

My Toshiba is mounted to a flat metal plate that had 5 screws across the very top, and four screws across the bottom. a longer #2 phillips works nicely.

I, on several occasions, had the input cable slip half way out of the TV causing a very poor picture. Other than that I have had no issues with the TV. The swivel mount I used was from Amazon. It was a Factory Mount Pro-X6.

I attached this photo to help with your mods. The screws into the back of the TV are through the original flat mounting plate. I cut the top off the plate along with the two bottom plate mounting tabs leaving the bottom foot for the TV to still sit on. This was needed to give clearance to move the TV in and out. Next to the TV mount screws are the 90 deg angle brackets I welded to the original TV flat mounting plate. You can see the welded brackets next to the screws. I drilled and tapped the angle brackets for 1/4" bolts that you see. Pull good measurements so the TV fits properly. Sorry I didn't take photos and measurements during fab and assembly. For the new wooden mount, I just used some 2x2 stock for the top and bottom horizontals and 2x4's for the verticals.

Call FR parts and get the attachment that allows it to swing up

On mine I took the 12v/cable amplifier plate off and pulled on all of the wire as well as the 3 cables from the video swith till I found the splitter.
I am assuming you mean you are not getting g cable on any TV
If just the bedroom TV the check the cable going into that TV
Good luck

I have no idea - Call FR.
However, the TVs are not that heavy, one for a 32 will probably also work with a 42. Look at the specs to verify.
