Georgetown 378 Squeaks

Yesterday I picked up my (new to me) 2011 model 378. On my first drive bringing it home we were getting a blood curdling schreech. I think it was coming from one of the slide outs. I am sure mine is not the only one that does this. Any ideas as to stopping this?

You didn't mention when and where this screech comes from.

Does it happen while you were driving down the road? Only when deploying or retracting a particular slide?

We need some more details in order to help you.

Georgetown Squeeks

Sorry I forgot. The noises are happening while driving down the road. They sound like they are coming from a slide out. It is more pronouced when going over a bumpy area such as bridge seams.

Slides may squeak, but they must be moving in or out to do so. I think your problem may lie with the Ford chassis. Spring pins, torsion bar bushings, all in the fwd end of the last of the coach length, near the doorway. If that's where the sound is, probably the reach suspension. Under your seats its maybe the front suspension. These joints do wear out and need to be checked every so often. The bumps clue me even more to check suspension. Enjoy your 378, great coach.

Although your 2011 is probably built on a 2010 chassis.

We have the same coach and had an almost constant schreech that we finally fixed by putting in strip of cardboard between the frame and glass on the fireplace. Sounds strange but take a look.

Same here

The final fix was to push the glass back a bit, masking tape the glass and metal frame and squeeze a bead of clear silicon adhesive between the glass and metal frame. Silence is golden
