Question Georgetown 378 XL

Hi All,

I am thinking of the unit above. Would like to hear from anyone who owns one their experience.

Other questions:
Any purchase experience with RVDirect in Buffalo?

I Don't Have A 378, But I Do Have A M303, 32ft. Class "A" 1999,
Forest Rivers Rv's Are Well Built, However The Supporting Documentation For Maintenance Leaves A Lot To Be Desired.
No Comparison To Winnebago.
You Can Get Supplement Documentation From The Factory But They Do Not Show Much Detail Either. You Just Have To Learn As You Go Along.
ONE BIG DRAW BACK ON OUR RV IS THE FRESH WATER RECEPTACLE, WATER IS INTRODUCED FRM THE SIDE OF THE RV, IT APPEARS THAT IT IS FORCED FED NOT GRAVITY FED. THIS PRESENTS A PROBLEM IN THE WINTER TO RUN ANTI-FREEZE INTO THE WATER LINES. YOU HAVE TO PUT ANTI FREEZE IN THE WATER HOSE FROM THE TAP, HOOK UP THE HOSE TO THE INLET AND TURN THE WATER ON VERY SLOWLY.
I HOPE I HAVE BEEN SOME HELP.

Georgetown 378XL

I have an 08 and love it.We had an 06 370XL prior to this and loved that also.Killed a day last winter and went to the RV show in Timonium.Came back trading the 370 for the 378.Did it because we wanted the 2 slides up front where you spend most of your time(I guess)Am very happy we made the move.As soon as we climed in at the show I knew we were in trouble.

We also own a 2008 Georgetown XL 378. Had it for over two years and love it. Made a 8900 mile trip out west and experienced no problems. We like the double slide up front making the living room large. We use the fireplace for additional heat down here in Florida. Saves on prophane. I feel Forest River makes a good rig. We went thru the factory and was impressed with the constuction. Just minor problems and Forest river took care of it.

I don.t know anything about the RVDirect. Checked with two different dealers and figured about what the coach was worth and how much markup is on them. My dealer matched their offers and we ordered from him at a 38 percent discount off the listed price.

We have a Georgetown 370 but really liked the 378 but with three daughters the bath & a half made better sense. I've heard quite a few good things about RV Direct, especially pricing. There are a few 378XL on Ebay motors priced below $110,000 for 2010 models. This can help in comparing prices. I'm sure NWJeeper will tune in. He has a 378 and purchased it from RV Direct. He can give you first hand information. By the way to FRF. We really enjoy our Georgetown and would recommend them to anyone interested.

Well first off the original poster has only posted once over 2 weeks ago and honestly I don't think he has been back or has seen anyone's comments or I am sure they would have thanked us for the input so I wasn't really gonna chime in.

However for anyone else considering a 378ts or using RVdirect.com we have been extremely happy with both. In the history of modern RVs there has only been a handful of companies who have built the same floorplan as the 378 (Rexhall, Winnebago, FR) which has such a unique layout. FR is the only company still producing the floorplan now. For the life of me I just don't understand why the RV industry continues to pump out the same old tired and thoughtless floorplans year after year (especially in the diesel lines).

The pricing we found through RVdirect was nothing short of amazing. We saved over 17K over our local dealer INCLUDING the $3500 delivery charge we paid at the time to have it driven out here to Washington from the factory. Consider that RVdirect is still making money and it will really start to torque you off as to how much markup is really built into these rigs.

For anyone considering any Georgetown model I highly recommend checking price with RVdirect before you do anything else.
