Just to give everyone an idea of how the Bounder club and chapter I belong to works. We have two national clubs[Bounders United and Bounders of america] and many local chapters. The chapter I belong to called the Gulf Coast Joeys is made up of about 15 coaches in and around central Florida. We meet once monthly during the winter months. Since buying the georgetown I am not banished from the chapter but called a S.O.B. [some other brands owner].Since many gtown owners winter in Fla. it might be possible to make plans for a weekend pow wow at a locale campground. You folks on the left coast and in other parts of the country do the same thing Things like this always start small but sometimes end up big. It all depends on your interest and the participation on this forum.

When it comes to our Jeepn' activities we have been asked many times about our website and how someone can "join" our club. I always explain we aren't a club. I believe in the "non club" club. Which is to say I don't like the politics involved with organized clubs. I don't have time for meetings, elections, dues collection, or officers. With our Jeepn' we always tell people we are going to be at "X" location to run some trails and anyone is welcome to join us if they want. It has worked well for us and our friends in the BCJC as well (British Columbia Jeep club).

In this fashion it wouldn't matter then if someone had a GT or not. I suppose we could let those snobby Berkshire owners join us from time to time (I'm just kidding guys, don't send me hate mail), or other FR owners. We actually have more friends around here that have FR 5ers than GTs anyway. Still I'm not against the FRGTOC "frogtoc" idea though.

Nice looking rig Johnneypal!

I like the adhoc approach to the "rallys" and I see that one of our entusiastic GT owners has already posted his general whereabouts while in Florida. I'll bet there are other GT owners who winter or live in Florida who would have a chance to meet up with them. Good on you.
In RV.net forums they have what is called a "sticky" which is a topic that always stays at the top of the forum. Ed, as super moderator, you can probably tell us whether this concept is possible in the Forest River forums also. If it is we could have 3 stickys; one called "Whereabouts East", one called "Whereabouts Central " and another called "Whereabouts West" for those of us on the left coast. What do you others think.

I will bring it up to the Admins. The general consensus among the moderators and admins is that they want to keep the stickys to a minimum as they don't want them consuming an entire forum heading. There have been items in the past that I though would make good stickys. I believe there is separate "region" sections in the forums. Making a sticky in each one for where people will be shouldn't be hard. I think the only stipulation should be that once someone has returned from their planned outing that they return to that section and delete their posts so it doesn't get out of hand.

We will discuss this as a viable option but I don't want to promise more than I can deliver at this point. If it becomes a reality I will make a general post to the membership.

Hi Ed
Sounds good to me. I'm not stuck on the sticky's (pun intended). I just thought it was one way to simplify a single site for each region. Others may have even better ideas.

BTW How do you like your new GT compared to the Bounder?

We just "upgraded" from our 2009 bounder 38p to a 2011 georgetown 350... I say upgraded because our Bounder pretty much fell apart. We are a young family (wife and 3 kids) and the Bounder seemed great at first... washer/ dryer, leather furniture, 3 tv's etc. At first we had usual problems, cabinets and little things, then on our summer trip to New York from Florida it really started to fall apart. The cabinets above the driver and passenger seats separated from the ceiling and almost fell on us while we were driving through the mountains, the windshield wiper on the passenger side broke off during a rain storm, check engine light came on, gas was leaking out of it when I filled up etc... It was a death trap! Fleetwood was not very helpful but reminded me that our warranty was up 1 week prior to me calling! They basically said they could do nothing, wouldn't even help me find an authorized dealer in the area we were staying! Couldn't wait to get rid of it! So far we love the FR, the kids call it Georgy, their service has been great. We didn't like the way the TV's were in the bunks with the dvd player on the shelf so they said to buy one's that we like and they will reimburse us! They really make a great product especially for the price, the Bounder was a lot more expensive and I don't feel it is worth it, one of the biggest mistakes we made was getting that Bounder!... Sorry to go off topic but wanted to spread the word!

We all loved our 2006 Bounder very much and had very little trouble with it for the 5 years and 40000 miles that we owned it.

Thanks for the info on the Bounders guys. Our last rig was a Flair and although we had little problems with it, it wasn't the best built. We almost bought a new 2005 Pace Arrow 35' but we would have been settling for the floorplan as it wasn't what we really wanted. Then we found the Georgetown 378 in 2008' which is the exact floorplan we had wanted, and put our money on one that summer. Based on our experience with both Winnebago and Fleetwood in the past I have to say this is as well built or better than both. It is going great after 2 years with little troubles.

I like the idea of letting owners where and when they are going to be during certain times. We are currently on the backside of a 6 week trip that has taken us through Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and currently in Apache Junction, Arizona. Maybe we could find a place on this forum to tell others where we are while travelling. Just a thought.
