Georgetown: converting dinette to bed

OK, I'm crying uncle here - how does one arrange the seat cushions such that they make a flat even surface to create a bed when the dinette is dropped? Both cushions from the backs of the dinette are curved so they don't fit together when laid flat.

Also - on the coach we looked at, when the sofa converts to a bed, it seems like the head is several inches higher than the foot - end. Normal?

And lastly, since we're talking beds - I'd like to hear from owners who have the drop-down front bunk option and how it has worked for you.

Can't comment on the dinette conversion, haven't used it yet.
As far as the drop down bunk, we use it as a storage area when parked on long stays. Place to put your jacket, hat, rolled up mattress topper if we use the hide-a-bed

What I do with the dinette cushions is I put flat side to flat side (thus, curved in the middle) and then smash them down. My logic is that at least the flat sides will support one another and less fighting between the cushions! LOL

WRT the over the cab bunk... honestly, I got it for resale value and haven't used it. However, if my son want to bring boys fishing or something, I know that I have it...

We usually put the curved sides at the far ends. The fold out couch is pretty level. don't have the drop down.

I have both problems. I've figured out the curved cushions - just smash them in. The sofa bed is a problem for me. Sleeping backwards on it is the only solution I've found.

We had the same problem and our salesman and techs couldn't figure it out either. Our salesman contacted FR and explained the issue and that the cushion arrangement was unacceptable. FR manufactured a cushion that fit on top of the table top when it was lowered. The cushion was covered from the same faux leather material and color as the rest of the furniture. It made a level bed out of the dinette. They shipped it to our dealer and it was free to us. FR remedied the problem satisfactorily with great customer service as well as our dealer.

We got an extra cushion for the dinette that you only use when you convert it to a bed. That created another problem...where to store the cushion. Right now it's in the bedroom closet but it takes up quite a bit of room. Since we rarely use the dinette as a bed I might just take it out and leave it at home.

The fold out couch was a bigger concern since we actually use it as a bed. I remedied the problem by buying a set of 3 1/2" bed risers at Bed, Bath and Beyond. I put two under the center crossbar and two under the foot crossbar and the bed is completely level. They also fit under the couch when you're not using them. We'll use the overhead for the first time this weekend when I take my grandsons fishing.

Thanks that is great information. We are using the smash and pray method when converting the dinette to a bed. We pray it stays down long enough to get the sheets on it. I will call our dealer and ask about this additional cushion

I built a couch that converts into bunk beds
