Georgetown Motorhome safety idea

I don't think this matters what model of motorhome you all have, but has anyone else noticed the lack of side marker lights on the Georgetown models?

No problem with turn indicators front and rear to show others what your intention may be, (some models even have LED tailights.....cool) however, there is really no lighting on the side of the motorhome to indicate to someone alongside, that you're trying to make a lane change. If you've noticed some of the newer and upscale cars these days, they are coming with side turn indicators mounted on the fender behind the front wheel, or even on the side mirror housings, or even built into the mirrors themselves.

I added some of my own side marker lights, matching the same style of the side marker lights found near the rear. These OEM lights, remain lit steadily all the time unfortunately. The ones I added, are the same design, the same height, and mounted on the side panels just behind the front wheel wells. I tapped into the wiring for the front running/turnsignals found beside the headlights. There's lots of room to run the wiring back to the actual lamps themselves.

Now when I'm trying to get into the adjacent lane on either side, I have a way of letting others know.

Guess I'm just a bit of a safety nut, but this kind of lighting is found as standard lighting on a lot of other large vehicles, and I just wanted the same advantage.

I had a similar concern with my last TT and added turn signal indicators at the mid point of the trailer. I often traveled on the older Montreal freeways which require a lot of lane changing in rush hour traffic to get to the off-ramps which often are from the fast lanes. They helped a lot.
