georgetown recall??

Has anyone heard about a recall for 2010/2011 Georgetown power train automatic transmission gear position indication? We received an email from Sam Alert NHTSA vehicle recall about it but have not heard anything further either from Forest River or Ford.

Looks like you can search the NHTSA Recall database by searching for 2010/Forest River/Georgetown:

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchSafetyIssues

It found 1 older recall.

Send a message via Skype™ to Falcon35
If you did not get a notice back in 2012 are you sure your dealer registered your coach with Ford. It was a Ford recall and I know ours was registered with the Forest River coach VIN # not the Ford VIN #. When I had mine serviced the first time at a Ford dealer they registered me with Ford and told me I should get the
registration changed on the license as well. They told me if I didn't do that I may miss out on recalls. I did get the notice from Ford for the recall you are asking about.

We had our transmission cable replaced at the closest Ford dealership that sells the F350 and bigger pickups.
We did check before taking it and had to leave it overnight.

There is TSB (TSB Number: TSB-12-6-1)
that you need to have them do.

Here are some links discussing both.

There are a few more threads if you need more info, use the ADVANCED SEARCH
keyword “recall”
Search in Forum “Georgetown”

Please don't call it a Georgetown recall. It's a Ford F53 recall. Had mine fixed at a Ford dealer. Our beloved Georgetown's get hammered enough. There...got that off my chest.
