Georgetown Roof buckle and cracking

I have a 2017 Georgetown 335DS and the corner/ gutter edge radius is wrinkling and appears to be cracking. Anyone experience this? I was told that the wrinkling is normal. Looks like heck! Just starting hours of emails with factory/dealers/repairmen. No recall yet, but there is a solution. Newer model have different radius design.

That’s the way my 2015 looked. The fix was new radius caps along both sides of the motor home. Forest River is very aware of it and has been fixing many. The down side is it defeats the whole purpose of a one piece fiberglass roof because it takes a bunch of screws to hold the new caps on. My dealer fixed mine after a little fight and Forest River directed then to. They sent the kit to my dealer and the dealer did a real good job it’s just now I have a bunch of screws that I have to keep dicor sealeant on. Not real happy but it is what it is. Do a search and you will find lots of info on it.

roof ridge cracking

looks like you could take 4 inch eternabond- clean the ridge cap and install the full length- then cracks wont leak if they do open up

Mine looks the same. I am not happy about it but the forest river solution to cover it and drill many holes in the roof may increase the chance of a roof leak. I believe someone on here did have the metal caps installed and then had a roof leak from the many screw holes in the roof that need to be covered with dicor. I will continue to keep a close eye on it and if it starts to crack I may try the eternabond tape or 3m makes a fiberglass repair for boats that comes in white or black. These wrinkles in the roof edges is probably my largest disappointment in the motorhome. The only correct way to repair this is a new roof.

Torquing roof

By any chance are you using jacks manually? It looks like the coach is getting torqued. My 2014 is fine .

Georgetown roof buckle

We have a 270s - where the roof curve buckled and cracked.

Forest River approved the fix and Lazydays installed.
2 years later, no leaks (I do check the roof and sealant areas). and no buckling of the new caps.

Georgetown Roof buckle and cracking

This is not normal. FR has a Fix for this and I insisted the dealer do it before I took possession of my 2017 270s. Looks great now and no leaks! The dealer that told you itís normal is full of crap!
