Got news for you all, ford a/c just blows, too bad its not cold air! My f350 crewcab since new (2012) will only cool the cab if I leave it on max a/c, that way its just recirculating already cool air, there is no way to make that work on a class A

I have 33K plus on my 2011, AC quit at 3 year mark, end of Ford warranty. Had Ford dealer check and they recharged and stated could not find leak, using dye. This was at 28K, have put over 5k on here since and ac is working as good as it can. Definitely will not cool entire coach but comfortable for my bride and I up front. When I stop for lunch or leg break, I start Gen and open the large vent on AC to dump cool air into front cabin. Hope this helps.

I'm thinking its not a Ford A/C system at all. My 378 was furnished by Evan Tempcon and fitted not at the F-53 assembly but by FR. That's the reading and investigating I've done. These are a lot larger than cutaway chassis and truck cabs.

I have a 2013 352qs and took my unit in to ford for the ac since it doesn't blow cold air at all. There response is it works fine. That's a bunch of BS but what can i do. Seems like a problem a lot of people are having.

I had our dealer service our unit when we picked it up cause it didn't seem to blow real cold air. As compared to my pickup or car. He found it came from factory with 4 lbs too much Freon. They vacuumed system and recharged to proper amount. Then we tested it out. Found that if blower is running on low it just doesn't feel like really cold air is coming out from dash at a 3-4' distance yet thermometer says it was a 38 degree differential at vent. If run on max air and blower on high it feels cold at that distance. Keeps us comfortable in the front of our 351 and we have driven in 98 degree heat. But definitely will not keep up entire coach. Run gen. and a/c if needed. Its not realistic to think a dash a/c could handle the entire coach. I run it on med-high to high and usually freeze DW and she covers up with a blanket, but I'm just comfortable. DW usually directs her vent towards rest of coach away from her.

I have replaced two compressors on my 2010 Georgetown 378 with Ford V-10. It's a Ford problem.

I had the same problem as noted above on my new ford f series... It wouldn't cool when It idled..Dealer pretty much told me it was the nature of the beast... So I hooked up a set of gauges and found it low on 134...( so dealer mechanic never bothered hooking up gauges) So for the hell of it ..I set it up pulled vacuum and recharged with the correct amount of 134... Now it cools like a icebox..

As for my Georgetown.. I have driven it a few hundred miles now.. I live in Florida 90+* and me and the wife feel comfortable in the front seats.. It blows ice cold from the vent....But let me add the compressor was replaced by the previous owner under warranty last yr..so they had to pull vacuum and recharge system ...

What I'm trying to get at here it might be worth it to take it to AC specialist.. So they can hook up some gauges... And if neccessary Pull vacuum and recharge system

Had a fridge tech check it again. It seems the problem occurs only on propane. He adjusted the tube bringing the propane to the flame and appears to have a better flame. Tomorrow we are leaving on trip travelling through Las Vegas; that should let us know if problem is fixed.

Odd Our Ford chassis automotive air keeps us frosty all on it's own. Never even considered running rv AC. Definitely a problem

The compressor would be under the Ford 3 year 36,000 mile warranty if that's what the problem is. Most likely low on refrigerant.

Most likely the compressor. I'm on my third and have three RV buddies, all on F53 chassis, that have had bad compressors. Something about the split case that leaks ALL the refrigerant out. Ford really needs to find a solution to the problem and issue a recall.

Your A/C is only cooling the cab of your truck. How would the one(s) back in the trailer be of any use?

I find A/C systems in general are prone to failure. They work for a few years and then just start acting up.

Vin.

Start the generator and let them cool the whole camper? Right?

howdy: I have a 2011 378xl and the dash air quit in June 1 month over warranty and I talked to ford about this and they said sorry. I think ford needs to step up and figure out what's wrong with these units, my brother has a 1999 coachmen mh and it still blows cold and he has 48000 miles on it so ford must of changed something along the line. Step up ford and make a bunch of old guys happy. Pete
