Getting a tow package

I am capable of towing my Honda CR-V behind the Georgetown. I'm wondering where a good place is to get whatever else I need. Someone in the RV park is telling me I will probably need to spend another $2k to get all the work done. Please let me know what I need and a good place to go. I'm living in Southern Cal in Seal Beach. Thanks.

I'd recommend Camping World if there's one near you. Check the Roadmaster website to see if your vehicle requires a LP-1 kit to lubricate your CR-V's transmission. Yes it will be around 2 to 2-1/2K with the braking system and labor as well as the tow bar and the bracket for your vehicle. I went with the BrakeMaster Kit. It's easy to remove once you reach your destination. Best of luck. Be safe and enjoy your traveling.

Wish it wasn't so expensive but thank you.

Camping World will give you a quote for the installation of the tow package. Don't forget to have them include some type of stone shield for the back of the motorhome and most likely you will need a stepdown type adapter to align the tow bar with the rear of the motorhome. I've had mine for almost 2 years and it's really worth the expense. I hardly know there's a vehicle behind me.

Georgetown50,

I have to agree that Camping World is much to expensive. You can get everything you need and the same things that CW sells elsewhere for less. We have a local shop that specializes in setting up vehicles for towing and towed vehicles (Toads as they are called by RVrs). They have the towbars and will wire your vehicle lights to work with the RV, ETC. I would look for a similar shop in your area.

The Honda CRV does not require a lube pump.Just follow the tow procedure listed in your owners manual.

Johnnypal, Welcome to the forums.

Please take a look at the date of the posts on the upper left corner of each one. You will notice that this thread is just shy of a year and a half old. I believe this gentleman has been towing his CRV now for well over a year.
