Guardian Generator 6500watt Surging

I went out this past weekend to exercise the genny and here is what I did and my problem:

turned on genny, waited to allow it to warm up, turned on KingDome and tv, turned on AC and genny started to surge like hmmmmm...mmmmmm.....hmmmmm.......mmmmmm then no electricity to motorhome and genny still is running strong without any hmmmmm...mmmm...hmmmmm. I went out and checked circuit on genny and in the coach nothing was tripped. I turned off genny and restarted and tv and KingDome worked fine, the problem is when I introduce just one AC unit and then nothing.

I plan to celebrate the 4th of July in Maine, so it will not be going to the dealership until the following weekend.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Try flipping the breakers off and back on with the genny not running.
If there are any breakers on the genny itself, flip them off and back
on also.
It sounds like your AC compressor did not start.
If it was stalled or locked the built in "guardette" on the compressor
would cycle off and on giving you the surge.
Then it sounds like either something failed or maybe you'll get
lucky and just have a circuit breaker that is partially tripped.

Try cycling the breakers off and on and then try turning on the
AC first. If it doesn't run, the next check would be to try the
coach plugged into shore power and see if everything works
including the AC.

Good Luck!

I have 5500 watt Guardian with only 30 hours and it suddenly started putting out 160 volts. Luckily I checked the outlet with a voltmeter before I turned anything on. It is now sitting at the dealer for repairs. The governor went out inside the engine. Guardian is giving the dealer trouble concerning the warranty. It's been there since May 22nd. Make sure you get a warranty claim before work is started. The dealer followed every procedure and Guardian is still dragging its feet.

Got my genny fixed! The regulator went bad and was replaced.
