Gutter Spout Extensions

I have tried several brands/models of gutter spout extensions none of which seem to properly fit the ends of my MH gutters. I even had my local dealer try what they said Forest River suggested, but they would not fit.

I contacted Forest River and their suggestion was to try RV surplus websites.
If your gutters and stock short spouts look like mine, and you have successfully installed extensions, I would appreciate knowing where you got them and how they are installed.

We all have the same short drains in the front of the Georgetown. Mine always drips on my mirrors which I have to clean regularly.
I wish Forest River would install longer ones. I also bought a set of extensions from Camping World but they will not fit my rig.
Anyone that has found a solution please show us with a picture.

I also had some extensions that would not fit. But I trimmed a lot off and attached them with black silicon and have no issues for the last year and a half.

I haven't had a chance to get over to our MH but I plan on just using the old fashion clothes pin method -- at least giving it a try. Cheap, and if it works, then I'm happy.

I have a 5er and was going to suggest the clothes pins also. I used the commercial kind and found that when driving into the forest or campground or the street I live on, with a lot of low hanging branches, the commercial ones would eventually loosen up and fall off. So it's clothes pins for me. They work for me although I don't know if they would clear the mirrors on a MH. Surprisingly the stay on when moving at 65 mph.

My short gutter extensions discharge the roof water on to the top of my bedroom slide. All that water goes onto the slide cover.

Not quite sure this will work, but you might need to be a little inventive. Depending on the size, I would buy some PVC pipe and split it. Then If it works glue it to the gutter spout after using some black plastic paint. Might work out.

X2....i also spray painted them black with rust oleum plastic paint. but its starting to chip off....

1gal milk jug handle cut to fit and painted works well and doesn't cost anything.

I used them on the fiver I had with great success, I will cut one up to show you how to make them and install on my GT. May be a couple days but you will have pics.

So you use the whole tube from the handle or do you cut in half to make a extended gutter? Sounds like a great idea and we may have an actual easy solution. Thanks

Ok it worked here are others, you can make them as long or short as you want as you can see this one is 4 inches, I will attach with either short flat head screws or 1/8th pop rivets you could also glue them on.

Am I correct in assuming you attach the lower portion of the milk bottle handle to the rain gutter?

Yes, cut it to fit your gutter spout at what ever length you want it.

that's a great idea jergeod.....thanks for the post and pics.....gonna make some up, paint them, and remove the other extensions i made up next week. the ones that are made for TT/5'ers, that i re-cut to fit, i anchored with silicone and a small fat head screw also. trouble is i would like them longer....these fit the bill....

Clothes Pins, Auto breakaway when trees hit them. They make Great (Conversation Starters) also! They will ask about the Pins before anything else! Youroo!!
