Have you used "Airtabs" on your Georgetown motorhome?

I recently read an article in Motorhome Magazine about a product called Airtab fuel savers. Has anyone on the Georgetown forum used this product? Would you recommend installing Airtab fins on a Georgetown motorhome? We have a 2011 33', 337 XL DS Georgetown model.

Not a MH, but put them on an 831RLSS Flagstaff for stability and they work. Put them up both sides and across the top.

They purposefully disrupt the air flowing around the back end of the unit, that disrupted air can't affect the flat tail like smooth air can. They also disrupt the low pressure area back there reducing drag.

Enhanced fuel economy is the usual goal and I can see it improving stability as well.

They are also known as turbulence generators, vortex generators, or "TGs" and "VGs"

I have a friend who has them on his Georgetown.
He really doesn't notice that much of a difference when driving but one thing it does is diverts the air enough that the road dirt doesn't build up on the rear cap as much. It actually looked very clean after a 3,000 mile trip I took with him.

Examples that I've seen are where the RV rig has box type angles at the four corners of the rig. Our 2011 Georgetown 337 XL DS has curved corners rather than sharp edges.

I wonder whether the Airtabs would work with our unit.

They used to put vortex generators on the rear horizontal tail surfaces of propeller driven military airplanes in the 1960s and 70s. I don't know if they still do.
