Hdmi

Does anybody know why FR does not use HDMI cables on their builds. I was very surprised to see that my 2014 GT was prewired with the basic RG6. Not complaining, just curious.

Just a guess... Because it's cheaper to install.

Or HDMI cable ends won't fit into the 1/2" pvc conduit on slide?

My last motorhome was a 2012 Winnebego and it was prewired with HDMI. I would have gladly paid for the upgrade if it was due to cost.

What is weird is FR prewired their pull models with HDMI or so the thread said.

I agree! It's been a hassle to correct! We would have up graded like we did on other things had we known!
We have the 2014 GT xl 377.

It was confusing to me too. I had the dealer plug a cable into both TVs and dangle it so I would have access for plugging in BR player or Xbox.

We made our dealer run HDMI to the living room TV as we bought the Traveler Slimline with DirecTv HD dish. Really like the setup now. I bought an HDMI splitter for the front TV in our 377 XL. Also learned that you can't get local channels except over-the-air unless you pay for an entire new package.

The tv in my rig is on the sidewall over the counter. I ran an HDMI cable but it was a real pain in the @$$. Had to pull the TV and use a fish to get the cable pulled through a piece of PVC that was molded into the wall. Had to find an HDMI cable with thin heads that would fit through the PVC along with the other cables.

Oh you don't even want to ask about what we've ran into this weekend with ours! Lets just say we are already home no 6 day trip for us, it's back to the shop and my hubby is mad! We've had it 8 weeks I think , 5 weeks in the shop, now it's going back for God knows how long.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you get it back soon. I hope mine stays in one piece. I hardly ever had to do anything to my Winnebago. Time will tell.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know how to get audio using the RCA jacks / switch box it's delivered with? I've got a DVD player plugged in and am getting video.... just no audio??!! WTF!!?? I agree... HDMI out of the gate should have been mandatory!
