Heater issue

this morning i turned on my heater as it was cold out. the air conditioner also turned on.Is this normal? the way its supposed to work? it seems to me to be counter productive with cool air coming from AC vents and hot air coming from heater vents.

Set ac blower to high or low and take it off auto. The ac is not running just the fan is to move air around better.

it moves more air by using the ac to move it around off the ceiling.

Did your AC units come with the optional heat strips? If they did then your AC unit fan would run when set to heating because those heat strips are in the AC unit on the roof.

Sorry bubbles but if the fan is not on auto and there is no electric heat on the ac then the fan will not run...at least it should not run

You have one weird thermostat. Is it made in Antartica or something?

That is correct, the Fan should be on auto. if there is a furnace, the heat would come from the floor, not the overhead vents. but, if the fan is on HIGH, or LOW, the heat would come from the floor, and cool air would come from the overhead vents.
