These type of signs are suggested speed. It has to state speed limit to be an actual speed limit sign and to be subjective to a ticket. On the other topic in Illinois most roads are 55 for trucks over 8 tons and specifically state "and for vehicles with trailers". Considering the max anyone pulling a trailer should go is 65, due to the speed rating of the tires, which speed to follow truck or car is really not something I worry about

My Garmin RV750 is set at the truck speed limit but I think that is because it is built on the map data base for the truck GPS. I do at times drive faster then that but not often as fast as the auto speed limit. I do try to stay in the right lane and not hold back the trucks and other RVer's that are running at the car limits and above.

Last weekend we were minding our business coming home on a very busy highway (~62mph) and another guy pulling a 5er was whizzing by us. Promptly traffic came to an abrupt halt. We had no problem stopping because I had plenty of space, but the other guy nearly had to go 'agricultural' next to us to get his rig under control. For the next 20 miles he tucked in behind me at a safe distance - my guess is that he soiled his shorts.

Here in Michigan, the posted truck speed is only for commercial trucks.

Two weeks ago heading to Florida driving on I10 thru Louisiana on a very rough stretch of road. F350 dually pulling a 5er passed me like I was standing still. I was worried about his low profile tires and weight capacity pulling the 5er. I see him again a few miles later on an off ramp missing a tire on the 5er. I'm guessing the rough road broke an axle.

Tom Tom? wow, that's a blast from the past for me. Yep, I own one, but it's gathering dust in a drawer in my office here at home.

We use iphones for "how do I get over there from where I'm at right now" information these days.

That Tom Tom wench was too argumentative and naggervatin'

(chuckle) I *so* wanted someone to hack and add to the voice track

"turn around at your first opportunity"
"turn around at your first opportunity"
"turn around at your first opportunity"

(sigh)

"ok do it YOUR way then, but just for my information WHY did you buy me?"
