hot water bypass valve 378

I have a question from my husband. We have a new 2014 Georgetown 378. He is looking for the hot water heater bypass valve. We have looked at the diagram in the manual and there is not a valve where the diagram indicates that there should be one. I gather that this valve is in different locations on different models. Does anyone know exactly where it is and how to get at it on a 378 (2014)? .......Jackie

Locate your hot water access panel outside, then look under the coach and there should be a white plug that can be removed and the valves (3) should be inside.....

DH just went out to check our 378 (2014). Look underneath the RV below the water heater. There is a round white cover plate. Remove it & you can see the bypass valve up in there. According to DH, weird place to put it!

FOUND THE BYPASS VALVE!
I have a 2012 378TS
The bypass valve is located behind the exterior compartment door where the hot water heater is located. To access the bypass valve you must go down under that compartment from the ground and look for a white round screw off cover (about 5" dia). If you unscrew and use a flashlight you will see the valve and able to turn by sticking your hand and arm up the hole.

After you locate the valve location, make sure you turn all three! The upper one is a little hard to see and reach.

Would anybody know if my 2007 378 should have one or more bypass valves? I found one by removing the round screw off cover, but antifreeze flowed into the water heater when I winterized. I searched with a flashlight and by sticking my arm into the compartment as far as I could, but couldn't locate any other valves.

A photo of what you found would be helpful.

If it is a lever type (single valve system) like below and you filled your hot water tank, the valve is either broken or your tank outlet check valve is bad.

If it looks like the "back of the tank" photo's valves (3 valve system), you did not find them all.

Thanx. Looks like the single valve system. I'd heard that the check valve isn't reliable, so that's probably my problem. It's not going to be easy to replace it being inside that plastic compartment, so I'll have to decide next year if get into that or just buy extra antifreeze and then flush out the water heater.

Thanks very much to everyone who helped. We had a family emergency and couldn't get to the RV to spend any time there until this Sunday. My husband tells me that once he knew that he actually had to get under the vehicle to locate the valves things went much better. Thanks everyone for pointing us in the right direction............Jackie
