Hot water heater

I have a 2010 378. I used the hot water heater yesterday, worked fine. Today I turned it on and can hear the igniter and see it working, but it is not firing off. I have plenty of propane. Any suggestions.

I had the same problem with my 2011. It is a sporadic problem and after taking it to the dealer about a half dozen times they finally figured out that the igniter/backet had an engineering defect and that the spark, under certain humidity/temperature conditions, would go to ground. Suburban will probably send you a new ignitor/bracket for free. That fixed mine.

If the igniter is snapping and you can smell propane at the water heater, you have a bad mixture. Check the flue and burner area for spider or wasp nests.

If you do NOT smell propane, check the gas solenoid.

Our new 12 Flagstaff 8528RKWS water heater would only light about 1 out of 5 trys. Decided to remove the igniter and re-aligned the igniter wires/probes according to the dimensions in the manual and now it lights every time. The manual has very exact dimensions in how the wires/probes must be aligned in all directions, but once you get them, everything works. You will need 2 pr of good needle nose pliers to get them just right.
