hotwater heater bypass

howdy:2012 378ts.i have 3 lines behind hot water heater.dewinterized today.all lines were off,and i turned them back on inline with pipe.is this correct????

The valves on the lines feeding the top and bottom of the water heater should be open. The valve on the line that runs between those two, the bypass line, should be closed.
