I just recalculated our MPG, thanks for the new formula .
6.5 hiway and 5.5 city and 4 in the mountains = 16

Does it monitor fuel burned by the generator? I would be surprised if it did, as it was my impression that the data was calculated from fuel flow data in the engine computer. You could get a surprise if you make frequent use of the generator.

My impression and I may be wrong is the generator use won't show in the miles per gallon numbers but after a while as the the tank level drops it will update miles to empty. So if at one point it shows 400 miles left to empty and the generator continues to be used you it may only get say 300 more miles (understand these numbers I am throwing up are not real) but as the fuel tank level is dropping faster the miles to empty would keep readjusting, I've always thought it calculated average mpg compared to current fuel level in the tank. Again I may be wrong and since I don't have a MH, I can't speak to actual generator use while going down the road.

Does this include having the generator running? How many miles to empty?

Just filled up the MH again and the mpg was only 6.45 mpg! This is without a toad. Going about 64-70 mph. This is a 35 footer. Guess we need to go slower to get better gas mileage? Generator hardly used on this last tank of gas. Would really like to see about 7 mpg, especially since we're not pulling anything!

I get best mileage at about 60 MPH with a toad. And that is between 6.8 and 7,0. The big wild card is the wind. Headwinds have dropped me as low as 5.5 MPG.
