How level do you have to be?

The refridg cools fine when level, after settling a few days it was not cooling, so i releveled, and fridge cooled back down to 32. Now it seems we have started to lean just a bit, and fridge is back to 40 degrees. Is it really that precise or possible something else??

Without getting into great detail about how an enclosed ammonia system cooling system works you have answered your own question.

YES, you must have it as close to level as possible to make it work the most efficiently.

I disagree. Our fridge in our 360 has worked well when not level. No problem getting it down to 35. Have yours checked. It should not have to be perfectly level. Now that said, you can't be way off like really tilted in either direction.

I agree. Something is wrong with the fridge.

when we first got our trailer
tow ball height was off a little
3 or 4" from front to back
and the frig did turn itself off once
while towing

but
if we just do our best so as to level
all should be fine and working
don't have to be perfect
we use small round leveling bubbles
epoxed onto rear bumper

Generally, on units less than 20 years old, if you're level enough to sleep comfortablly, you're okay on the reefer.

You disagree with this statement?

If you still disagree you have no idea how these liquid systems work.

All the previous answers are subjective, as to "level". Place a bulls eye level on the flat in the freezer and adjust level to that. If you are reading level off a kitchen counter or dinette, then fridge may not be close to level.

On our Georgetown we have to be almost perfectly level for the fridge to work properly. On our previous toyhauler as long as you were close it worked fine. It seems to be the same with our friends with RV's. Those with MH have to be pretty much perfectly level, those with toyhaulers just need to be close.

Just curious, no one has said how you determine "Level". Just asking.

Generally you need to ensure that you are level from front to back as the fridge is on the side.

Level from right to left (side) first. From front to back is easy.

Take a level (a good one not the little cheap ones) and check your fridge floor to your floor in the middle of the trailer (near the door is easiest) counters if its a motor. If they match then use the floor / counter (easier). level side to side then front to back. a good level is less than .5 degrees off from center to line edge of bubble. If it still doesn't cool have it serviced you might have a small leak and be low on ammonia.
