How often do you or should use wash your RV?

Hey all,

I'm a full-timer living near the ocean (1 mile away). In our park, we have a rv washing unit that we can drive in and wash the rv. It does cost about $8.00 or so buy the time I put in enough dollars. It's a fair amount of work to move everything around to pull the slides in and move the RV, much less just the cleaning of the RV. When I first got the RV, I thought I'd be meticulous at keeping it clean but after a few times of this, I wonder just how much I should worry about it.

So, anybody have a clue as to how often I should clean it to clean off the salt air? Monthly? Every two or three months?

Not just taking into account the body but also the undercarriage I would think at least once a month. Salt and metal, I know the undercarriage is not very well coated to protect it, I would try to keep it clean and possibly put some type of undercoat on the coach frame to slow down the eminent rusting that will be there.

My camper is on a seasonal site for the first time this year, but when I return from the ocean I wash it. I think the main thing is to keep it waxed so that there is a barrier between the finish and salt. You may be able to hose it down once in a while with out using soap or a cleaner.
