How to turn drivers seat around?

I have an 11 Georgetown 378 XL TS and wonder if anyone who has the same model can tell me if and how to get it turned around. My last motor home was an 11 Itasca31E and it was difficult to turn around until another forum member showed me the technique. It was easy after that. Hoping it can be done. Oh ya it is on a workhorse chassis just in case that makes a difference. Thanks

I have a 2012 378TS and its hard to explain how to do it in writing but it is possible and gets easier after you do it a few times.


I will try and explain some of the steps in hopes it will help.


1. Move seat to max back position and lower chair down to lowest position
2. Leave left arm down
3. Manually rotate chair to the right as much as you can.
4. Lean the back slightly back in the recline.
5. Steering wheel should be in the up position.
6. Manually rotate the chair a bit more until the left arm rest touches the bottom of the steering wheel.
7. Using the electric slide the chair forward while still trying to manually turn on pedestal.
8. You may have to raise the left arm as some need to do this and others not.


This is the best way to explain but when you are doing it you also may need to lower the back up or down a bit as well as lean the chair forward or back a bit. You may also need to electrically slide the chair forward and down more as it sometime rises in some positions. This last part is the trickiest and needs multi movement of the chair arm to clear the seating wheel.


I have also noticed in some cases when you lower the chair the front edge rises and you must adjust accordingly. Like I said it's hard to explain but you should not have to damage the chair arm so be careful.

Thank you that is what i needed to here. That it can be done. It is probably like my last coach you just have to know the technique. We are leaving for Apache junction on Feb. 26 and staying down there for the month before heading back to that 4 letter word "WORK". PM me where you are in Arizona and maybe we can drop by. I have the workhorse chassis and i am wondering if the steering column is different than the Ford thus making it more difficult to turn around. Anyone out there with a 378xl on a workhorse chassis that has gotten the seat to swivel 180

This process works on my 2014 378... But still not easy.

Put the steering wheel all the way up

-Move the driver seat as far forward and as low as it will go

-Tilt the back forward

-Put the left armrest down as far as it will go

-Swivel the seat

As a side note -- my sister's RV you actually have to turn it counter clockwise as opposed to clockwise on mine (GT351).

Oh, and it is tight / pressure when working past the steering wheel.

I just wish the passenger seat would turn around too!
