Hydraulic Jacks repair - positive experience
Just wanted to share a positive experience. My hydraulic jacks failed on my 2015 351DS about a month ago, if anyone remembers me posting about it. Basically, they fully extended (lifted the RV off the ground), and I could not retract no matter what I did.
So, I called LCI (Lippert), and talked to a tech. They first had me unplug one of the sensors on the hydraulic pump to retract all jacks, which brought the coach back to the ground... then identified a problem with either the wire harness or with the control board. The good guy Lippert tech took down my info and my coach's info, and 2 weeks later I had a brand new controller and wiring harness, delivered via USPS.
Took me about 30 mins to swap out the harness and the hydraulic control board, start to finish. I had to reset the level interface inside the RV, by reading the Lippert manual, and then re-level the zero point. All jacks now work perfectly!! I am guessing this would be a month long, $1000 adventure if I took this issue to a dealer to have them "fix" it.
Moral of the story: don't be afraid to learn the systems and fix them yourself, you'll feel great, learn a lot and save $$.
