CTMDP - How was that bra installed? Did you do it yourself? Are those buttons?

Peeled off my Diamond shield crap at the end of last season. Sprayed the front with plastidip to protect it.

If you want to keep looking at the paint instead of a bra try using (Rejex) . It is a great product for uv and for being able to just wash the bugs off. Can be found on the net, amazon and most marine places. It is very easy to put on and will last 6 months. Look it up on the net before buying it and see what they say about it, I can attest that it works as stated.

Not quite sure I understand your first question on how it was installed. Yes they are a form of a button. It's like buttoning your shirt. Takes less than 3 minutes to put it on.

I tried cleaning mine with acetone. Big mistake. It smeared a black residue.

I use "Top-End" Convertible Top Cleaner and Protectant (Surf City Garage). It cleans and conditions the vinyl.

Must be something about the SE area and the Diamond Shield and similar products. We have been shopping for a while and every used unit we looked at with the DS stuff looked like crap. I told everyone of the salesmen that it would either be removed before we purchased or I was expecting a $1,000 of the price. We ended up buying a new unit and they offered to install DS I told them if they did, they would be taking it off too.

I was told by the Diamond Shield rep when I called them that it is some kind of tree in Florida that causes the most problems...don't know if he was blowing smoke or just smoking something LOL

Just for those of you that have not seen mold growing under your diamond shield, here is what it looked like as I was peeling it off
