Since I started the thread I would like to add that we have purchased RV's (our last 5th wheel for instance) that the PDI was so bad that I sent the guy away and called the owner of the dealership and hotly debated the merits of his employees. Then he conducted a really good PDI, which I taped on the old style camcorder. The 378 we purchased had a good PDI guy but I did ask questions he had to go get answers for.
Saying all this I (we actually being the wife and I) have been RV’ing since our first in 1969. This is our 15th rig so we know what questions to ask and have learned to be very demanding on the PDI, manuals, etc. We walked off the lot with check in hand until this last unit was complete to our satisfaction, which took 3 trips and 2 weeks and the dealer is 100 miles away.
Most folks don't know what to ask or where to start ESPECIALLY if this is their first rig. That being said there is still no excuse for not reading your manuals as a first course of action on a problem, then ask all the questions you want because the answer isn't in the book.
