Just purchased a 2009 Georgetown 357QS!

Hello all! I am a first-time RV owner and new to this forum so please be gentle! I recently bought a Forest River Georgetown 357QS from a seller that need out ASAP and I didn't get an educated walk through or many manuals. Therefore I have a couple of questions. I have not actually measured the RV and some sites indicate 35’ others say 37’? Grey and black water valves are not indicated as to which is which…granted I have not looked close enough to follow the plumbing. The back camera is not sending a signal to the monitor...common? Lastly, is there a website for downloading previous year’s owner’s manuals? Thanks in advance for all of the help…really looking forward to our first trip.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase! Is it a good assumption that you're in the Chicagoland area? I'm newer to the scene but I'd be willing to walk through with you and show you what I know. The FR manuals are fairly useless in my opinion but you can pull down the generic one from here: Forest River RV Customer Service

Happy camping and let me know if you need some help!

I'll be gentle if you post some pics of it. LOL

Like Chris said, don't bother with the manual from FR. Best thing to do is ask questions here and create a file as you go.

Congratulations on your new home. Don't be concerned about not having the Forrest River owner's manual. It seems they print a single version for all their models of motorhomes. It is so generic as to be useless. You would want to have the individual manuals for the various appliances and systems from the suppliers to Forrest River. You should also get the chassis owner's manual. Some can be found on the internet using Google, other may be available from people here on the forum.

A 2009 sales brochure would have the specifications for your model. Here is a link courtesy of forum member cfsoistman: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...res-10709.html

As for the grey and black tank valves, that is pretty easy: The black will usually be the bigger diameter pipe and valve. They grey will be smaller in size. On a previous van camper I owned, the two valves were close enough together to mix up, so I put some black paint on the valve handle for the black tank, and left the grey tank valve handle unpainted (the metal color was close enough to grey).

As for the back-up camera, there could be several reasons for it not working. I would start with the simple ones, like trying the different input buttons on the monitor and checking to see that the video cable is plugged in completely on the back of the monitor.

Thank you all for the information. I will post pics as soon as I can. The previous owner had it wrapped in all black and his website address put low on the side. I will probably leave it wrapped as i am not sure if it would damage the original decals if I remove it. You are right about the manual...very generic for multiple models. Everything seems to work except the camera and is overall in great shape (18K miles). Worst damage is a severe gouge to the vinyl in the kitchen floor from the slide. Probably was not level and slide was opened and closed. Trashed the floor in an approximate 3" x 18" rectangle. Suggestions? Matching floor available from Forest River? I was going to go to a Big Box store and look for a vinyl 1 foot tile close to the pattern and patch the floor. Thanks again for the help.

Forrest River's parts department does have the matching floor vinyl. I purchased some last Fall to use when I replaced the bedroom carpet. They have used at least two different vinyl patterns on the Georgetowns over the last few years, so you may want to take a photo of the pattern you have and send it via e-mail so they can sent the correct one. Their replacement parts costs are very reasonable.

Did you deal with Forest River directly or were you forced to go through a dealer?
