Kaper II fake lug nuts-is this the tool?
I do not have the tool to get the fake lugs off (bought MH used). Is this the correct tool?
https://www.amazon.com/Kaper-II-M910.../dp/B01MG572WL
I want to take off my wheels for some inspection/maintenance and was doing some research. I had no idea about the fake lugs!
Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply. Are there different sizes of them? In the ad, it states to make sure this is the correct one.

Ok, so the next question, do I have to use the tool? Can I use the correctly sized socket to remove them if they just screw on/off?

Sure you can. In fact, on my 2014, the water heater anode wrench is the same size. Just look for the "nuts" with a slight crease in the SS, those are the real ones. 3 on each I believe.

The chrome pops off, not screwed, there is a nut under them, it unscrews.

Yes that is tool to just remove the fake caps with dimples. Only the ones with dimples and the rest of the cover will come off.

Ok, now I am confused (it's not hard, ask my DW). Do the nuts screw on or pop on. I have added our coach to my signature. We have 19.5" wheels and 8 lugs, 2 of which have the dimples.

On the 22.5 inch covers (2012 GT378) the dimples on the lug nut covers fit into a groove on the lug nut. You can pry the covers off carefully not breaking the dimples to expose the nut. On a previous 19.5 inch wheel the nut was an integral part of the cover so they screwed off as a unit but they were not Kaper II.

Great info, I just assumed mine were Kaper II. It doesn't say "Kaper II " on the cover so maybe they aren't.
Thanks all for the help!

There is an actual tool for removing the covers, then the nut is removed. Here's a link.

I have the 19.5 wheels and YES YouCan use a STD 11/8 socket but you will also need an extension because of the depth on the rear wheels which doesn't allow you to ratchet the wrench otherwise. The tool FR supplies is worthless as you can't put ant torque on it for frozen nuts. Btw..I have 3 nuts that work on each wheel..check carefully for dimples!

I'm with you. My FR tool just bends the nuts are so torqued. Will try my socket next.

The first time my FR supplied wrench started twisting where the shaft attaches to the socket I went out and purchased a socket that fits the lug nuts that hold the hubcap on. Even a cheap socket won't break the way the wrench with a socket soldered (maybe brazed) onto a shaft will.

Just wanted to follow-up with my results. I have the 19.5" wheels. My nuts were screw on. Used a 1 1/8" socket and they came right off. There were only two as some said they had three.
Thanks all for the help!

I believe there are 3 on the 22.5 wheels.

I have a 2016 F53 chasis with 22.5 in wheels and my lug nuts are 1 1/2 in. It's on a 377TS GT.
II just used the supplied tool to take the lug nuts off with covers on them that hold the cover on. It's oversized enough to fit over the lug cover. No problem. These aren't torqued down.
